Gov. Charlie Crist signed into law today the state's first regulations for the use of seclusion and restraint on public school students with disabilities.

The law prohibits school employees from using a mechanical or manual restraint that restricts breathing. It also forbids school employees from locking a disabled student in a room that fails to meet state fire marshal rules, and requires training for employees working with children with disabilities.
